All Inclusive Caribbean Vacations – Part 1

All inclusive Caribbean vacations are a great value.  The next all inclusive vacation I want to take is to the Beaches Turks and Caicos. 

I first heard about Turks & Caicos almost ten years ago from a friend.  She and her husband take their three boys there every year.

Herkimer Diamonds

What do you get when you combine Herkimer Diamonds with a weekend getaway?  The answer is a great mini-vacation with the chance to find treasure!

Herkimer Diamonds can be found in Herkimer County, New York, USA.  Technically they are not actually diamonds.  These gems are actually a quartz crystal.  Regular quartz crystals have a hexagonal termination point.

What Makes Herkimer Diamonds Different?

Herkimer crystals are different from regular crystals in that both ends of the Herkimer crystals have the hexagonal termination point.

This happens because the way the crystals form in within their host rock (loose) rather than attached to the host rock.  There is some contact with the host rock but not like the traditional quartz crystals.  This phenomenon adds to the fun of prospecting for Herkimer Diamonds. (more…)

Swim with Dolphins Cozumel

The swim with dolphins Cozumel excursion was one of the best experiences of my life!  I was blessed to be able to share this experience with my daughter.  It’s something I recommend if you ever plan a beach family vacation in Mexico; work this activity into your itinerary.

Although there are other swim with dolphin programs, the one in Cozumel is special because of the extra activities you can do.  It is so much more than just “swimming.”  With this program, you become like the trainer.

They show you some behaviors and the instruction is both fun and educational.  Then you get to be like the trainer and when you do the behavior, such as slap the water with your hands, the dolphins respond with a behavior as taught by the actual trainers. (more…)

Las vacaciones de familia mexicanas son una opción elegante.  Hay muchas ventajas a elegir esta destinación de las vacaciones.

Antes de que vayamos más lejos, tratemos la reputación que algunas destinaciones mexicanas de las vacaciones tienen.  Sí, es verdad que algunas áreas son populares entre la muchedumbre partying de la universidad de la rotura de resorte.

Black Sand Beaches vs. White Sand Beaches

Although growing up white sand beaches were the types my family visited, black sand beaches have always fascinated me.

Well, the seasons have changed.  It is spring in the United States, and Fall in Australia.  With the change of seasons, families often start to think about vacations and beaches.

A popular trend in the family vacation is becoming family cruises.

Recently millions of families have discovered what a great choice a cruise is for their family trip.  There are many reasons why this type of vacation has become so popular.

Families have more choices now than ever with cruise lines catering specifically to families, such as the Disney Cruise Line, but even the traditional cruise lines have become much more family friendly.
